On Saturday, April 12th, the Lord called home Mrs. Jeanne Hummingbird Stone. A native of Adair County, Jeanne leaves behind many friends and relatives all around the country. She graduated from Stilwell High School in 1968 and went on to become a nurse, a profession that suited her so well it led her across the United States, living in Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota and Georgia.

In 1975, she married the love of her life, Jimmy Ray Stone, also of Adair County. Jim and Jeanne built a life of trust and honor, and their love only got stronger during their 43 years together, being married for 39 years. Together they raised two children; Susan Megan Stone of Stilwell and TJ Hummingbird of Leesburg, GA and also played a huge part in the upbringing of various nieces and nephews and grandchildren. She was a blessing to so many through her life, both those kin to her and the people whose paths she crossed in her over 35 years in nursing.

She was greeted in Heaven by her father, Bill Hummingbird and her mother, Elsie Scott Hummingbird as well as a sister, Lynette Lewellen.

She is survived, missed, and loved by her husband Jimmy Ray Stone of Stilwell; two brothers, Bill David Hummingbird and his wife Belinda of Rolla, Missouri and James Elliott and his wife Mary Hummingbird of Stilwell Oklahoma. Also, her two sisters, Mary Bird and her husband David Bird of Wyandotte and Michele Ann Hummingbird of Oklahoma City as well as one grandson, and three granddaughters and countless nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 18th at 10 am with memorial services to be held at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel and internment to follow at Tyler Springs Cemetery in Stilwell.
