Geneva Lynett Hummingbird-Sykes, daughter of Bill and Elsie M. (Scott) Hummingbird was born June 30, 1958 in Talihina, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 17, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 18 days.
She worked as a certified nurse for many years. Lynnett really enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her husband, Boyd Sykes of the home in Stilwell, Oklahoma, 3 sisters; Jeanne Stone and husband Jim of Leeburg, GA, Mary Lou Bird and husband David of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Michelle Hummingbird of Norman, OK, 2 brothers; Bill David Hummingbird and wife Belinda of Rolla, MO., James Elliott Hummingbird and wife Mary of Cherokee, NC. A special grandson; Eli Randolph of Stilwell, OK., several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive her.
Funeral services were held, Friday, September 21, 2007 in the Fairfield Church with Bro. Robert Fourkiller Jr. and Bro. Joey Ketcher officiating. Interment followed in the Tyler Springs Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
