She was a very loving mother and grandmother to her family. She worked as a home health counselor for the State of Oklahoma until retirement. After she retired she returned to work as Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Housing Authority where she worked for many more years.

Alyene loved traveling, home canning, quilting, flowers, enjoyed watching the World Series and was an avid OU fan. She was also a very active member of the Fairfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents Adam and Katie Hogner, Siblings Edna Massey, Elsie Gray, Ollie Guthrie, Marie Hummingbird, Jeff Hogner, Maudine Worley, Kenneth Hogner, Wanda Sue Collins.

Alyene is survived by a very loving family that includes her children Jeffery Simpson and wife Joanna of Stilwell, Ok, Mike Ketcher and wife Nicole of Oologah, OK, Kathy Ann Hevezi and husband Chuck of Indianapolis, IN, 14 grandchildren Angela, Andrea, Sean, Kyle, Michael, Daniel, Jacob, Eric, Jesse, Kerrie, Genevieve, Nicholas, Dana, Travis and 19 great grandchildren. Siblings Ben Hogner and wife Lydia of Ft. Gibson, OK, Kathryn Green of Muskogee, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or set quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say, perhaps you were not there at all just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts we thank you so much, whatever the part. Thank you from the family of Alyene Hogner.

Funeral services were held, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairfield Baptist Church with Bro. Robert "Little Man" Fourkiller officiating. Interment followed in the Tyler Springs Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
