Lovita Whitlock, 82, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at A Journey Home, surrounded by family and friends, on February 17, 2018.
Lovita was born on December 27th 1935 to Jay Bateman and Lillian Bateman (White) in Stilwell, OK. She was educated in Odessa, TX and attended college at Oklahoma University.
Lovita married twice, first to Jim Whitlock and second to Jerry Hourigan and has been divorced since 1973. Lovita was a secretary for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville for 15 years. Lovita also worked as a sales clerk for Estee Lauder at Dillards in Bartlesville from 1984 to 1994, and worked at Hoppock Realty from 2000 to 2015. Lovita enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, working crosswords, and loved animals, music and decorating. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents Jay and Lillian Bateman and her adoptive parents, Floyd and Myrtle Whitehorn.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Brown of Bartlesville, grandchild, Whitney Brown of Bartlesville, her great grandchildren Chandler Leach, Chasidy Leach and Carson Leach of Bartlesville, and a sister Dixie Jackson of Cordell, OK.
A memorial service will be held at Stumpff Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Wednesday with Chaplain Jsue Wagner of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established and those who wish may send their contributions to Comforting Hands Hospice, 1366 S.E.
