Fama Lorene Deweese Webb
September 16, 1920-September 30, 2008
Fama Lorene Deweese Webb daughter of C.W. and Mary Jane (Harris) Deweese was born September 16, 1920 in Olvey, Arkanasas and departed this life on September 30, 2008 in Tulsa at the age of 88 years and 14 days.
She married the love of her life David Thurman Webb on December 21, 1943 and to this union they raised 4 daughters; Dawn, Deanna, Toby and Cathy.
Fama worked as a teacher for 38 years and retired from Stilwell Public Schools. She was a 50 year member of the Bidding Creek Baptist Church in the Wauhillau community. Fama most recently attended the First Baptist Church of Owasso while her health permitted.
Fama was preceded in death by her husband; David Thurman Webb, parents; C.W. and Mary Jane Deweese, brother; Gillis Deweese, sister and brother in law; Charlotte Weinmeister and Leo, 2 brothers in law; John Bellamy and Dale Orrell, sister in law; Betty Deweese.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her daughters; Dawn Staats and husband James of Inola, Deanna Sapp of Bethany, Toby Helms of Inola, Cathy Bridgewater of Tulsa, 1 brother; Ellis Deweese of Stilwell, 2 sisters; Mildred Orrell, Bea Bellamy both of Ft. Cobb, sister in law; Ruby Deweese of Stilwell, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren and one on the way, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
