Guy Wallace, son of Therlo Wallace and Hazel Maxwell was born February 26, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 22, 2015 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years 24 days.
Guy grew up in the Cave Springs area and attended school there until he joined the Navy in 1952. He served 4 years on the USS Ajax in Hawaii, Japan, Korea and China.
In 1956 he met and married Etta Sue Hudson and to this union 3 children were born; Mike, Belinda and Kathie. He did construction work for many years and worked for Standard Utility Contractors Inc. until retirement.
He met the love of his life Ruby Carlette Smith and they married in 2000 and have spent the last 15 wonderful years together. He loved to work on their farm he was always building or fixing up something, and he loved his animals.
Guy was a 32nd degree mason for over 41 years and belonged to Lodge No. 11 in Stilwell. He was also a kind gentleman and enjoyed doing things for others. He also served some time on the Cave Springs School Board which he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his mother Hazel Maxwell Adair, father; Therlo Wallace and wife Etta Sue Wallace.
Guy is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife; Ruby Wallace of the home in Stilwell, Ok, his children; Michael Wallace and wife Sandy of Damascus, OR, Belinda Wallace of Portland, OR, Kathie Henry and husband Frank of Siloam Springs, AR, step daughter; Joni Hensley and husband Alex Garcia of Corrales, NM, step sister; Galieta Chambers of Siloam Springs, AR. 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, cousins Kathleen Marsh, Roy Maxwell, Carl Maxwell, Ike Barrett and Martha Clugston,several other relatives and many, many friends also survive him.
Funeral services at 2 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Roberts Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Bill Holcomb officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
