John Nathan Teel, son of Jess Cleveland and Ola Beatrice (Grizzle) Teel, was born on January 13, 1935 in Noble, Oklahoma and departed from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 13 days.
John was a good father, husband and friend. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was proud to serve his country. John spent many years overseas working in the oilfields to provide for his family. His passion was livestock and poultry. He loved to visit swap meets to buy, sell or trade animals. John loved to visit and he always had new and interesting stories to share. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Jess and Beatrice Teel, brothers: R.J. Teel and Bill Teel, son: John Keith Teel and brother-in-law: Bob Stevens.
Surviving John is his wife: Gayle Teel of the home in Stilwell, OK, children: Gary Teel and wife Elisha of Houston, TX, Kelvin Teel of Cedar Park, Tx and fiancé Debbie Taylor of Leander, TX, Melvin Teel of Liberty Hill, TX, Norman Teel and wife Katy of Kansas, OK, Dane Hall and wife Elizabeth of Stilwell, OK, Deirdre Hall of Tulsa, OK, Stephanie Bird and companion Brian of Siloam Springs, AR, Carol Hall of Tulsa, grandchildren: Lauren Nicole Teel of Cedar Park and soon to arrive: Baby Adalynn, Gary Allen, Tyler and Amy Teel of Houston, McKenzie and Gwendolyn Teel of Kansas, OK, AJ and Alicia Bird of Siloam Springs, Keith Hall of Tahlequah, OK, Megan Lucas of Pueblo, CO, Thomas Lucas of Sapulpa, OK, Autumn Hall of Stilwell, brother: Jimmy Upchurch of San Antonio, TX, sister: Dorothy Stevens of Noble, OK, Emma Smith and husband Paul of Norman, OK. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Larry Hatfield officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
