Delores Elaine Twilley Tanner, the only child of Mary Dupree Twilley and Hugh Twilley was born on June 8, 1938 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with her Lord on April 30, 2020, in Checotah, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 22 days.
She was an accomplished hairdresser for over 25 years, as well as a real estate sales associate and head accounts receivable clerk and front desk manager at Fountainhead Resort in Eufaula.
After Delores retired she and her husband, Chuck, purchased Tanners’ Tackle, a bait and tackle store on Lake Eufaula. Together they ran the store for approximately 12 years. Delores loved her life on the lake and even enjoyed mowing her lake front property. She was dedicated to the love of her life and husband of 45 years, Chuck.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Tanner, of the home, as well as two daughters, Lorrie McGee and Tara McGee of Stilwell, stepdaughter, Charoltte Madison- Gress and husband Rick of Choctaw. Delores adored her six grandchildren, Eric Higgins of Stilwell, Alex McGee of Tulsa, Delaney McGee of Stilwell, Jeremy Madison of Portland, Ore., Jacob Madison of Norman and Jessica Madison of Tulsa. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Daniel Higgins of Stilwell, Tim and Ruthie McNew of Eufaula, David and Barbara Tanner of Choctaw, as well as several nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Her last words were, “What will be, will be.”
Graveside memorial services were held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, with Bro. Leo Duncan officiating. Services were entrusted to Shipman Funeral Home of Muskogee, and Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell
