Ervin Eugene Swepston, son of Joseph Leonard Swepston and Viola (Stacy) Swepston, was born on October 1, 1928 in Barber, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ervin loved his grandchildren dearly. Ervin worked as a carpenter for many years. In his spare time he raised chickens and bottle fed calves. He loved to garden and he was always proud of his tomatoes. Ervin enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music. He was a talented musician. He was a dedicated church member to the Rocky Mountain Bible Church. Ervin will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Viola Swepston, brother: Virgil Swepston, sisters: Juanita Mooney, Marie Hall and Pauline Coffey.

Ervin is survived by his wife of 65 years: Barbara Swepston of the home, son: Larry Swepston and wife Joy, daughter: Linda James and husband Ronnie, grandchildren: Shelley Eubanks and companion Chris Whitaker, Jamie Swepston and wife Carolyn, Chad Swepston and wife Samantha, Lindsey Hersh and husband Justin, Jennifer Hampton and husband Jaysun, Jeffrey James, great grandchildren: Paxton and Rilee Eubanks, Lucas Swepston, Andy Swepston, Boone Swepston, Austin Hersh, all of Stilwell, OK, sisters: Jerri Vanderpoo  and husband Delbert of Tulsa, OK, Vera Smith of Bartlesville, OK and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel with Bro. Rob Matlack and Bro. Terry Mays officiating.

Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
