Nathaniel Floyd Starr. 93-year-old native of Adair County, died Tuesday. June,12 in the Stilwell Municipal Hospital.
Starr, a well-known farmer and apple grower for many years, was forced to retire 14 years ago when he suffered a stroke. He was born March 11, 1880, near Starr Springs, Indian Territory, in what is now Adair County. His parents were Caleb Ellis Starr and Malderine Adair Starr. His 10 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
His wife, the former Sarah Fletcher, preceded him in death as well as four children. He later married the former Ada Palmer and to this union was born one child.
He was a long time member of the Zion Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Ada, of the home; include: four sons. Eugene Frank Starr. Independence, Mo., Gene Palmer, Carbondale, Colo., and Ralph and Fred Palmer, both of Eltopia, Wash.; four daughters, Opal Starr. Minturn. Colo., Mrs. Mary Belle Ditmars, Grandview. Wash., and Mrs. Betty Barker and Mrs. Ruby Thornton, both of Stilwell: 44 grandchildren, 121 great grandchildren, and 42 great great grandchildren.
