Ruie Valentine Smith, daughter of Elzie Worth Herbert and Emma Victoria (Davis) Frazier, was born on February 14, 1926 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Saturday, August 7, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 21 days.
Ruie was a lifelong resident of the Stilwell area. She married Harry Dean Smith and they were blessed with 3 daughters. She lived her life to the fullest and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Elzie and Emma Frazier, husband: Harry Dean Smith in 2002, daughter: Shirley Bradley, brother: Herbert Frazier, sisters: Sylvia Jones, Ellen Frazier, Naomi Clinton, Edith Phillips and Ruth Butts.
Ruie is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Carolyn “Cookie” Asbill and husband James of Bunch, OK, Joy Stafford of Houston, TX and son in law: Mark Stafford of Pryor, OK, son in law: David Bradley of Bella Vista, AR, grandchildren: Travis Asbill of Prairie Grove, AR, Mickey Asbill and wife Suzan of Stilwell, OK, Cameron Stafford of Edmond, OK, Eric Stafford of Pryor, OK, Kellene Bradley of Georgia, great-grandchildren: Kaitlin Asbill and Audrey Asbill of Prairie Grove, AR, Devon Asbill of Stilwell, OK, Cricket Bradley and Davion Bradley of Bella Vista, AR. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Blue Hothouse and Bro. Udell Denny officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
