Narcie (Sanders) Sawney was born April 23, 1926 to Harris Sanders and Vina Catcher, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2015 in Pocola, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 5 days.
Narcie spent the majority of her life in Stilwell where she had family and many friends. Those who knew her from years back will remember her working at the Circle S Laundry. After she retired, she had a passion for "garage sales" both going to and having them. She also liked keeping her hands busy: making quilts, knitting, crocheting and made many items her children and grandchildren now cherish. Later in life, when she could no longer stay by herself, Narcie went to live with her youngest daughter in Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Derek Keniston.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Janice Goodwin and husband Steve Goodwin of Cameron, OK and Gayle Tannehill of Sallisaw, OK; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Goodwin of Cameron, OK, Buddy Tannehill of Denver, CO, Rhonda Davis of Sallisaw, Ok, Lisa Keniston of Claremore, Ok and Sherri Doolin of Braggs, Ok; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and a cousin she was especially close to, Joann Kirkaldie.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services at 11 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Jeff Little officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
