Mary Lou Rowan
July 26, 1937-May 6, 2009

Mary Lou Rowan, daughter of Lawrence Edward and Ruth Edna (Keech) Smith was born July 25, 1937 in Martinsville, Missouri and departed this life to be with our Lord on May 6, 2009 at Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 10 days.

Mary Lou married the love of her life Dale Andrew Rowan on June 19, 1955 and to this union 3 children were born; Larry Dale, Sheila Kay and Rhonda Lou.
They together owned and operated Rowan's IGA for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Dale Rowan in 1998 and 1 infant brother; Gerald Dee Smith.

Mary Lou is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Larry Dale Rowan and wife Pam, Sheila Kay Bruner and husband David, Rhonda Lou Chadwick and husband Steve all of Stilwell, OK, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandkids, 1 brother; Bob Smith and wife Marie of Joplin, MO, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 8, 2009 in the Christian Worship Center with Bro. Hubert Sponsler and Bro. Jimmy Varnell officiating.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
