Herbert Daniel Proctor, son of Charley and Nancy (Conley) Proctor, was born on September 16, 1929 in Cookson, Oklahoma and departed this life on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at 88 years of age.
Herbert moved to Stilwell from Cookson in March 1954 to work for Ozarks Electric Cooperative beginning on the line construction crew. He soon made first class lineman and drove the number 9 service truck until just prior to retiring in June 1992. In retirement, He had two main enjoyments: playing with the grandchildren and raising Red Angus cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charley and Nancy Proctor, wife: Inez Maxine Proctor, stepfather: Lawson Horn, brothers: Goodlow Proctor, M.A. Proctor and his sister: Marie Lechner.
Herbert is survived by a large and loving family that includes his children: Randy Proctor and wife Debbie of Edmond, Patsy Ritter and husband Jack of Stilwell, grandchildren: Wayne Ritter and wife LeAnna of Siloam Springs, Ark., Angela Booth and husband Ashley of Springdale, Ark., Syrae Caughman and husband Carney of Stilwell, Kevin Proctor and wife Jamie of Lander, Wyo., Tim Proctor and wife Jamie of Sioux City, Iowa, Stephanie Victor and husband Matt of Broken Arrow, Susan Proctor of Oklahoma City, OK, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services
were held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, with
Charles Crozier officiating. Interment followed under the direction of
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell.
