Connie Raye Pettigrew, daughter of Cecil Ray and Eleanor Louise (Johnson) Merriott, was born on December 1, 1952 in Pittsburg, Kansas and passed from this life to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years.
She was a member of the Christian Worship Center in Stilwell, OK. Connie enjoyed helping in church as a Sunday School Teacher and assisting with Children's Church. She was always willing to help with anything that was needed. Connie was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening and canning. Her family and friends were her life and inspiration. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and family. Connie made many
friends and touched many hearts during her time with us. She will be deeply missed.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil and Eleanor Merriott, sister: Ruby Gail Thackeray, nephew: Tommy Thackeray, mother and father-in-law: Wade and Effie Pettigrew, sister-in-law: Donna Kay Pettigrew and her maternal & paternal grandparents.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband: Larry Pettigrew of the home, daughters: Angela Chewey and husband Mouse, Joni Hale and husband Adam, Shelly Kimble and husband Justin, all of Stilwell, OK, 10 grandchildren: Kendall, Megan, Cody, Kallie Chewey, Ryan, Abby, Lynsay Hale, Ben, Hayden, Case Kimble, 2 great grandchildren: Kayden Chewey, Serenity Nakedhead, brothers-in-law: Jack Pettigrew and companion; Cookie Doyle, Roy Pettigrew and wife Nadine, John Pettigrew and wife Virginia, sister-in- law: Glenda (Pettigrew) Martin, nieces: Tonya Thackeray, Amanda Rayl, nephew: Cory Thackeray, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Marty Jones and Bro. Mack Crittenden officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
