Veralee Parsons

Veralee Parsons, daughter of James Leroy and Bonnie Chloe (Rice) Vanhooser, was born on July 20, 1929 in Dodge, Oklahoma and passed from this life to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.

She married the love of her life, Wadell Parsons, on August 28, 1949 and they were blessed with a wonderful family and over 65 years of marriage.

Veralee was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet. She crocheted baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, leaving them all with wonderful mementos of her love.

Veralee was preceded in death by her parents: James and Bonnie Vanhooser, daughter: Sharon Parsons, brother: Ray Vanhooser and sisters: Mary Fuller and Chloe Whisler.

A loving family survives her and includes her husband: Wadell Parsons of the home, daughters: Gwynne Ricks of Stilwell, Barbara Towers and husband Richard of Wann, OK, Wadana Stacy and husband Kenneth of Tahlequah, OK, Kaylyn Rodriguez of Tulsa, OK, Uyvonna Billings and husband James of Siloam Springs, AR, grandchildren: Janet Thornton, Jessica Bannon and husband Brent, Jeni Stacy, all of Tahlequah, Nicole Eisdorfer and husband Seth of Denver, CO, Timilyn Downey and husband Cyrus, Taryn Price and husband David of Tulsa, Lance Towers and wife Holly of Oklahoma City, Ryan Ricks of Dallas, TX, Rowan Ricks of Woodward, OK, Ray Billings and wife Debbie of Siloam Springs, Nathen Billings of Tulsa, great grandchildren: Marissa, Dayton, Kyra, Kayla, Elijah, Jance, Olivia, Kaden, Breanna, Lewis and Sebastian, sister: Ruth Klopus and husband Neville of Kansas City, MO. Veralee is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Mike Fuller and Larry Hatfield officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
