Polly (Scott) NOFIRE
December 23, 1926-October 30, 2007
Polly Scott Nofire was born December 23, 1926, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Lincoln Scott and Lizzie (Rider) Scott.
She went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2007 inTahlequah, Oklahoma at 80 years of age.
Polly worked as a nurse assistant for Stilwell Memorial Hospital for a number of years. After her retirement, she continued to work as a home healtcare provider for another 5 years. Polly enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and making quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed phone calls with her family and friends. In good times and bad times, she always had her faith rooted in Jesus Christ. Polly was a member of Rocky Mountain Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Ollie Scott, three brothers; Charlie, Huckleberry and French Scott and one infant daughter; Mary Elizabeth Nofire.
Her surviving family includes four sons; Richard Nofire of Sapulpa, OK., Dennis Nofire of Stilwell, OK., Norman Nofire of Tulsa, OK., and Sherman Nofire of Welling, OK., one daughter; Euphemia John of Tahlequah, OK., two brothers; Michael Scott of Colcord, OK., and David Scott of Stilwell, OK., four sisters; Wynemia Bush, Bobbie Smith, Nancy Scott, all of Tahlequah, OK., and Pamela Wungnema of Carson City, NV., 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
Services were held Friday, November 2, 2007 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rob Matlack officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
