Freddie Ray Morton, son of Fred Franklin and Gertrude (Reid) Morton was born August 24, 1937 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on February 7, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 14 days.
He was a member of Christian Life Fellowship Church in Moore, OK. He worked for Franklin Electric for many years until retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and was an avid OU fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and the last four years with his companion Jenise Turner.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Gertrude Morton, wife; Sondra Morton, brothers; A.J. Morton, Don Allen Morton, an infant brother and one sister; Opal Doyle.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his children; David Higgins and Jerilynn Weber of Stilwell, OK, Tammy Perry and husband Joey of Tahlequah, OK, Shelly Kelly of Stillwater, OK, Suzy Hatfield and husband Jesse of Conway, AR, and Chris Morton and wife Rebecca of Bartlesville, OK, 13 grandchildren; Alisa Ritter and husband Jason of Stilwell, OK, Dana Brashear and husband Curtis of Braggs, OK, Eric Higgins and Allen Anderson both of Stilwell, OK, Kevin Perry of Tahlequah, OK, Craig Perry and wife Michelle of Independence, KS, Latasha Perry of Tulsa, OK, Tyler Perry of Tahlequah, OK, Sydney O’Daniel of Stillwater, OK, Brandon Hatfield of Tulsa, OK, Brian Hatfield of Conway, AR, Aaron and Jessica Morton both of Bartlesville, OK. 8 great grandchildren; Sydney and Lane Ritter, Alexis and Jimmy Anderson, Logan Brashear, Harper Perry, Kindle Jo Perry, and Daniel Wayne Higgins, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Herman Jones, Rev. Chris Morton and a Poem ~ Wanda Elliott (Representing the Class of 1957)officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
