September 2009
Submitted by: Martha Real

Lillian (Sanders) McLemore was born to Roy and Susie (Chewey) Sanders on June 7, 1929, in Adair County, Oklahoma. She went to be with the Lord September 4, 2009, from her home at Lyon’s Switch at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 28 days.
While attending Union Grade High School, she met and married Jack McLemore, her husband of 63 years. They were married in Columbus, Kansas on August 29, 1946. In addition to raising a family, Lillian graduated from Northeastern State College with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career in Grants, New Mexico and retired from Maryetta Elementary after 23 years of serving children and the community. After retiring, Lillian volunteered at Stilwell Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 13 years. She left her work there to help her family by watching her great-granddaughter.
Lillian enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking for her family and loved ones. She faithfully served her Lord from the time of her salvation and baptism at the age of 25; always trusting in God’s guidance and praying for her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Chewey and a granddaughter, Mary Jolene Bradley.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Jack McLemore of the home; five children, Dennis McLemore and wife, Regina of Stilwell, Bill McLemore and wife Vicki of Keys, Paula McLemore and husband Danny Claude of Keys, Mary Davis and husband Charles of Stilwell, Lisa Chair and husband Pete of Stilwell. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who knew her as “Naha”.
Lillian will be greatly missed, but we know she is at peace in the heavenly home that awaits us all if we follow her example of remaining faithful.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Brothers, James Wheeler, Robert Fourkiller and Hubert Sponsler officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
