Robert Evan Long © The Stilwell Democrat Journal April 2012 Submitted by: Martha Real Robert Evan Long, the son of Travis and Francis (Mills) Long, was born on November 18, 1943, in Weatherford, Texas.
He departed this life to be with our Lord on April 10, 2012, at home with his family at the age of 68.Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He married Donna Bolyn on May 8, 1969 in Weatherford, Texas and this marriage was blessed with five wonderful children. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandpa. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, having cookouts, fishing, or just sitting and talking. He also loved to make his garden, especially his tomato plants. He loved his little dogs, Rock, Misty and Stoney.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Francis Long, one brother, Donald Long, two aunts, Ollie and Maggie and other loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 42 loving years, Donna; two brothers, Fred and Raylene Long, of Westville, Ronald and Beverly Long, of Lubbock, TX; three sons, Travis Long and Mandy Escobedo, of Westville, Victor Long and Melissa Farriester, of Westville, Jamie Long and Kim Fuson, of Stilwell; two daughters, Martha and Marvin Grant, of Stilwell, Kala and Mike Williams, of Peavine; eight grandchildren, Casey and wife, Michelle, Mickey, Delaney, Matthew, Jeffrey, Skyler, and Kyle; one great grandchild on the way, and many other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Thomas Still officiating.
Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
