Atha Jean (Center) Lackey was born to Bard Center and Jenny (Collins) Center of Stilwell Ok, January 27, 1944 and was a home birth by Dr Mehagen.
Jean graduated from Caves Springs High School in 1962.
Atha Jean (Center) Lackey is preceded in death by her parents, Bard and Jennie Center, brother Albert Center, and nephew Roger Center.
Jean is survived by two children from her marriage to Dewayne Littlejohn, Jeanette Littlejohn of Deer field Beach Florida, and Jay Littlejohn and wife Michelle (Lamb) Littlejohn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and two grandchildren Hunter Littlejohn, and Tyler Littlejohn. One sister Alta Rene King and husband Winfred King of Stilwell, OK two children David King and wife Rita of Adair, OK and child Casey King and wife Erin (Head) King of Pryor, Darrell King and wife Dolly (Scott) King of Tailholt OK. One Brother Paul Center and wife Tammy of Stilwell, three children Kahlan Center and Wife Kelly(Ward) Center, Kimberly (Center) Warley and her three children Brandy Lucas Sowers, Korbin Warley, and Ryan Warley and Patty Center and her three children DJ Hamby, Summer Hamby, Josh Hamby all of Welling, OK. Albert Center deceased had two children Phyllis, Jackie.
Jean was married to Jerry Lackey of Muskogee Oklahoma and after 15 years of marriage divorced and returned home to Stilwell. Jean never married again, however did have a long relationship with Charles Floyd Asbill.
Jean loved listening to oldies music and cutting a rug anytime she heard the likes of Jerry Butler or Englebert Humperdinck. Never afraid of a good time, she usually started it and laughed the whole time.
During her career, she had a variety of experiences from working at the Pentagon to being a bank teller.
Hunting and fishing was a great past time that she found enjoyable. Spending time with family and friends was always an enjoyed past time; she loved entertaining whether cooking out, playing cards or dominos. Grandchildren will always remember all the great fun that was had during visits with their granny. A kind soul until the very end, Jean loved life and the occasional visit to the local casino for a cheeseburger and night of ringing bells and flashing lights.
Jean Passed from this life March 1, 2013 at 5:13pm in Muskogee Ok.
Graveside services were held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Stilwell City Cemetery with Bro. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
