Vivian Marie “Reccie” Kester, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruby (Williams) Patterson, was born August 15, 1931, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She went home to be with her Lord on May 6, 2012, in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Reccie was married to Lonnie L. Kester in Washington State on June 12, 1948. Their union was blessed with three children, Charles, Kenny and Jannet.
Reccie worked as a teacher’s aide for Bell School for 17 years and then worked at Stilwell Public Schools until her retirement. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, traveling and being with her family. She was a member of the Christian Worship Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ruby Patterson, her husband, Lonnie L. Kester, one sister, Alma Jean Hill and two grandsons, Matthew Kester and Billy Wayne Sawney.
Her surviving family includes, her children, Charles and Rhonda Kester, of Barber Community, Kenny and Jennie Kester, of Stilwell, Jannet and C.W. Talbot, Jr. of Stilwell; two brothers, Raymond Patterson and Jerry Max Patterson, of Sand Springs; four sisters, Doris Pewardy and Bonnie Bates, of Sand Springs, Virginia Brown, of Albuquerque, NM, and Carlene Bateman, of Oklahoma City. Seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many friends and loved ones also survive her.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Christian Worship Center with Bro. Hubert Sponsler officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
