Celebrating the life of Reba Marie (Green) Kester. Reba was born the daughter of Walter Edward and Anne (Emberton) Green, on November 28, 1933 in Adair County, Oklahoma. She departed this life in Fayetteville, Arkansas on August 21, 2010.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Annie Green, husband Junior Kester, one daughter; Regina Kay Bogart, and one grandson; Joseph “Clay” Stilwell and two great granddaughters; Abagail and Lacey Gonzales. Three sisters; Margie Flynn, Dorothy Lockwood, and Amie Berry, Three Brothers, Audie Green, Ather Green, Dale Green and also a very special friend Carolyn Beach Clark.
On October 5, 1947 in Adair County, Oklahoma Reba was united in marriage to Junior Kester. This union was blessed with 10 children, 22 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren. Reba was a homemaker most of her life, but worked as a cafeteria aid at Maryetta School, a housekeeper for Stilwell Memorial Hospital, and Clerk for Circle S Laundromat until she was no longer able to work. Reba loved working with people, always enjoyed meeting new faces, and she never met a stranger. She was known as Granny Reba to most everyone who knew her.
Reba awaits the homecoming of five daughters; Hazel Gonzales and husband Emmott, Donna Stilwell and Will Kennedy, Renee Kester, and Tammy Catron and husband Robert all of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Kathy Overton and husband John of Westfork, Arkansas. Four sons; Robert Kester of the home, David Kester and wife Carol of Baron, Oklahoma, Eugene Kester and wife Susan, Dale Kester and wife Tammy, and one sister Mamie Claphan all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Reba is also survived by her 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Juke Kester officiating. Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
