Virginia Maxine Hendrix
Virginia Maxine Hendrix, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Briggs) Shannon, was born August 1, 1926, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She departed this life to be with her Lord on November 7, 2012, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, three months and six days.
Maxine married Earnest Milam Hendrix in Stilwell on October 31, 1943. Their union was blessed with four children, Sharon, Sandra, Jeanne and Randy. Maxine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her role as a homemaker. She was a craftswoman who enjoyed crocheting, canning, basketry, beadwork and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earnest Hendrix, who passed away September 10, 1988, her only son, Earnest “Randy” Hendrix, and one granddaughter, Stacy Meyer.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving family which includes, her three daughters, Sharon Thomas, of Marble City, Sandra and Oren Glenn, of Evansville, AR, Jeanne and Larry Meyer, of Evansville, AR. Nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren also survive her. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Herman Jones and Bro. Lawrence Eagle officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
