Eugene Hart was born September 16, 1921, in Rhea, Arkansas to Alfred and Emily (Davis) Hart. He departed this life November 9, 2010, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Eugene worked as a soil conservation inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. During the war, Eugene was a flight crew chief in the China-Burma-India Theater, flying over the “Hump” in C-46’s.
He was married to Georgia Foster on March 12, 1946, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Eugene enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, riding ATVs and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Sallisaw.
His parents and one sister, Mildred Porter preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Georgia Hart, of the home in Okmulgee; three sons, Gary and Sandy Hart, of Edmond, Larry and Patti Hart, of Richmond, VA, Tom and Judi Hart, of Okmulgee; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a nephew, Freddie Porter and a host of friends and loved ones.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at the Stilwell City Cemetery with Kevin Spurlock officiating. Interment is under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
