Hazel Mae Grooms
June 3, 1917 - May 26, 2007
Hazel Grooms, daughter of Julius K. Adair and Eulalia Adair, was born June 3, 1917 in the Adair Family Home, Piney Community, Stilwell, OK.
She departed this life May 26, 2007 in Stilwell Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
Hazel married Earl Grooms March 23, 1940. She and Earl spent their fifty-seven years of marriage on the farm in the Oak Grove Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Grooms, four brothers; John, Kimsey, Connie and Chester Adair; two sisters; Helen Blakemore and Virginia Dowell.
Hazel is survived by one son, Tim Grooms and wife Jan of Stilwell, one daughter; Linda Holland and husband Dave of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 3 grandchildren; David Holland and wife Julie, Kimberly Smith and husband Daniel, Steve Grooms and wife Shelly; three great grandchildren; Shayla Grooms, Chynna Holland, and Audrey Smith. Two brothers; Denver Adair, Jess Adair and wife Louise of Stilwell. Many nieces, nephews and relatives and friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Oley Hatley and Dustin Wright officiating.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
