Neita Clarene Gregory
May 5, 1918-March 8, 2009
Neita Clarene Gregory passed away peacefully following a head injury on March 8, 2009, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a home health care provider and was employed at Stilwell Foods many years prior to retirement.
Neita, commonly called “Neet” by many, was known for her devout faith in Jesus, her independence, intelligence and her gift of wit and storytelling. She could always be counted on for a clever remark of some kind regardless of the situation. She enjoyed life. She loved to garden and her flowers were admired by all. She was very loving and made everyone she met feel like they were “special”. Her friends often referred to her as “Aunt Neet” or “Granny”.
Neita was preceded in death by one infant son, her parents, John W. (Bill) Moten and Johnnie (Lester) Moten, sisters, Learah Stufflebeam, Ruth Dixon, Grace Alexander, Bessie Moten, brothers, Oscar Moten, Nick Moten, Berthel (Buck) Moten, Tim Moten and Ott Moten.
She is survived by one brother, John B. and wife, Nancy, of Stilwell, OK and one sister, Carmen Garland, of Paso Robles, CA; two daughters, Loraine Robinett, of Joplin, MO, and Vivian (Loretta) Stout, of Sallisaw, OK; three sons, Johnny Darrell Gregory and wife, Shirley, of Van Buren, AR, Hershel Gregory and wife, Chong Hui, of Muskogee, OK and Travis Gregory and wife, Mary, of Stilwell, OK; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Darrell Self and Pastor Dewayne Driggers officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
