Earl D. & Goldia Eagleton
Stilwell City Cemetery
Goldie Eagleton, daughter of Earl and Belle (Peters) Lowe, was born on December 7, 1919 in Clark Range, Tennessee and departed this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 30 days.
Goldie worked at Maryetta cafeteria for many years. She then worked at Rex Thrasher’s Shoe Store until retirement in 1992. While working at Rex’s, she also became a second mother to all of the Swift’s family children. In her later years she resided at the Stilwell Nursing Home.
Goldie was a gracious and loving person. She was a blessing to her family and friends. Her family was deeply important to her and the time spent with them brought her much joy. Goldie was married Earl D. Eagleton and the Lord blessed them with a happy marriage and wonderful children.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Eagleton on April 17, 1975, her parents: Earl and Belle Lowe, sisters: Wynema Sue Dotson and Pansy Atkinson, brothers: William Claud “Buck” Lowe and Noble “Sam” Lowe, daughter-in-law: Coleta Bunch Eagleton, son-in-laws: Buster Woodworth, Jr. and Art Powell.
Goldie is survived by her children: Joyce D. Powell, Barbara Woodworth, Larry Eagleton and wife Pam, all of Stilwell, OK, 4 grandchildren: Jeff Eagleton, Bettina Woodworth, Bryan Woodworth, Amy Eagleton Ivy, 2 step grandchildren: Robin Wilson and Mendi Eagleton, 11 great grandchildren, brother: J.T. Lowe and wife Jean of Stilwell, OK, sisters: Thelma Davidson and husband Roy of Louisburg, KS, Billy Adair and husband Coy of Milfay, OK. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Stilwell City Cemetery with Richard Gardner officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
