Gene Doss
January 29, 1941-June 28, 2008
Gene Doss, son of Lovey Homer and Annie May (Kilpatrick) Doss, was born January 29, 1941, in Fayetteville, AR and departed this life on June 28, 2008 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 67 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
Gene married the love of his life, Jeanne Wolfenbarger on July 13, 1958 and to this union 4 children were born; Curtis, Cheryl, Norma and Doris.
He worked as a painter for many years. Gene was also a musician playing the bass and lead in a band. He was a lifetime member of the Songwriters Association in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Gene is survived by a very loving family that includes his loving wife of over 49 years; Jeanne Doss of the home in Stilwell, OK, 1 son; Curtis Doss of Siloam Springs, AR., 3 daughters; Cheryl Doss of Prairie Grove, AR., Norma Hulse and husband Del of Stilwell, OK., Doris Spindler and husband Steve of Prairie Grove, AR., Grandchildren; C.J. Ford, Lindy Alexander, Angel Nall, J.J. Mitchell, Justin Searles, Crystal Pitts, Colton Hulse, Christopher Rasco, great grandchildren; Brock Nall, Carrie Mitchell, Mykale Mitchell and Allison Alexander, 2 brothers; Marvin Doss and wife Neoma of Strickler, AR., and Steve Doss and wife Kathy of Prairie Grove, AR, Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Stilwell City Cemetery with Wayne Birdwell officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
