Russell Clay Davenport, son of Robert & Marie (Philpott) Davenport, was born on June 23, 1961 in Stilwell, OK. He passed this life on December 24, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK.

Russ was part of a large family that included 2 brothers and 7 sisters. He grew up in rural communities in the Stilwell area. For the last several years he made his home in Tahlequah, where he made many friends.

Russ worked for the Cherokee Nation in many capacities. He was not only a co-worker but a friend to the many people he worked for and with.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and dabbled a little in golf.

Russell never married or had children of his own. He was Uncle Russ to all of our children. He would swoop in on special occasions, do whatever his nieces and nephews asked him to. And when he left, they would all say, "Uncle Russ is so cool".

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marie Davenport, two sisters, Linda Crittenden and Debi Wininger.  One brother, Mike Davenport, Two brothers-in-law, Poncho Crittenden and Lyman Hewitt, One great-great nephew, Bryor Clay Drain.

Russell is survived by 5 sisters: Kathryn Wilkenson, Lori Toney & husband Rick, Connie Shepard, Robyn Longshore & husband Mike, Traci Davenport & husband James Stockton, One brother, Doug Davenport, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Russ was dearly loved and will be forever missed.

Graveside services were held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Stilwell, Oklahoma with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
