Gene Daugherty, age 86, of Stilwell, Oklahoma passed away November 10, 2011, with his family and friends by his side. Gene was born February 6, 1925, to Tom and Shirley (Rutherford) Daugherty and lived his life in the Spade Mountain Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving family which includes, his wife of 45 years, Ella Mae Daugherty, of the home; one son, Larry Daugherty, of Stilwell; four daughters, Shirley Ann Daugherty, of Westville, Malinda and Paul Childress, of Stilwell, Carolyn Hall, of Lexington, KY, Margie and Steve Long; one sister, Vivian Walker, of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Hanah and Calaway Hall, of Lexington, KY, several other grandchildren; step granddaughter, Stephanie Ogden, of Stilwell; a very special step great granddaughter, Jeri Ogden, of Stilwell; several other great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, Mason Leatherwood. Many other friends and relatives also survive him.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kevin Flynn officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
