Melba Ruth Davidson Collins, daughter of Marvin and Flora “Annie” Davidson, was born December 13, 1924 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 24 days.

Melba lived her entire life as a dedicated and faithful servant of the Lord. She married Thomas Vick Collins in July of 1941. To this union was born five children.

Melba was probably best known for her angelic voice. She and Vick were always being invited to gospel singings all over the area. Her voice could and did lift spirits and bring sinners to Christ.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Annie Davison, her husband Vick Collins, two sons James Collins and one infant son, one infant daughter and a halfbrother Donnie Davison.

She is survived by two daughters Darlene Morton and Vickie Terrell both of Stilwell; two granddaughters Melinda Mink and husband Hoover, Lila Williams and husband Chad all of Stilwell; one grandson Marvin Morton and wife Kendra of Westville; four great-grandchildren Jacob Mink and wife Kaylee, Alyx Mink all of Stilwell, Alivia Moreno of Fayetteville, AR and Ethan Moreno of Hot Springs, AR and; great-great grandson Drayce David Mink and one half-brother Jack Davidson of Glenpool. Several nieces, nephews and other loved ones and friends also survive her.

Melba had such a big heart and showed nothing but love and kindness to all. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kevien Sisco and Bro. Richard Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at hartfuneralhome.net.
