Mary Ola Casteel
September 22, 1915-September 5, 2008
Mary Ola Casteel, the daughter of Mayes Buckner and Eliza (Blakemore) Buckner, was born September 22, 1915, in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
She went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2008, in Modesto, California at the age of 92 years.
Mary was married to Rev. Ermon Casteel for 68 years and faithfully served the Lord with her husband for many years. The ministry took them to numerous churches throughout Oklahoma, Texas and California. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Rev. Ermon Casteel, two sons, Glenn Larry Casteel and John Edward Casteel, two sisters, Lillian Miller and Uvadell Eli, and two brothers, Jack Buckner and Joel Buckner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lily Wood, of Modesto, CA, Thomas Casteel, of Stilwell, Ermon Casteel Jr., of Alma, AR and Sam Casteel, of Vian, OK; two sisters, Colleen Neff, of Moore, OK and Eudene Green, of Wichita, KS; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous relatives, friends and loved ones.
Services were held 10:00 am Monday, September 15, 2008, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Ivan Casteel officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
