Edgar Lynn Brown, the son of Gaylor Edgar Brown and Louise (Cragg) Brown was born July 25, 1954, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was taken home to heaven on January 6, 2011, in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 11 days.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Denise Luvena Sellers on August 2, 1974, at the home of his parents, Gaylor and Louise Brown.
Edgar was proud to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He enlisted in August 1975. He reported to his first assignment at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico in late 1975. His first son, Bandy Lynn, was born in February 1977 at Cannon.
Edgar and family left Cannon for Torjon Air Force Base, Spain and served there for two years. He went from Spain to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, where his youngest son, Jamie Lee, was born in 1980.
After Jamie was born, Edgar decided to separate from the Air Force and return home to Stilwell. He stayed home for a short six months and decided to re-enlist in the Air Force. In the remainder of his career he served in Alaska, England, Korea and Italy.
Edgar retired from the Air Force in 1994 as a Tech Sergeant and returned home again. At that point he went to work at Stilwell Foods. Stilwell Foods later turned into Schwans Bakery and Edgar stayed on as a maintenance technician. Edgar was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor and continued to work at Schwans until 2005 when his diabetes took a toll for the worse and he was medically retired. Edgar was known to say that whatever you do in life, you have to only do your best.
Edgar knew his calling was to maintain the church and he loved working for his God.
In January 2004, Edgar’s name changed from “Dad” to “Papa”. Edgar loved to play with his grandchildren and see them laugh. Edgar had five natural grandchildren, Apathy Ann Sant, Madison Marie Brown, Priscilla Leigh Brown, Kaden Josiah Brown, and the baby, Joslynn Israel Brown. Edgar was loved as a grandpa by every child that came into his life.
Edgar enjoyed his life, he served his country and most of all he served his God with all of his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylor Brown, an infant daughter, one brother, Randal Brown, an infant brother and an infant sister.
He leaves to cherish his memory a very loving family which includes his wife of 36 years, Denise Brown, of the home in Stilwell; his mother, Louise Brown, of Stilwell; two sons and their families, Bandy and Wynona Brown, of Cane Hill, AR and their children, Kaden Josiah, Joslynn Israel, Jamie and Teresa Brown, of Hill Air Force Base, UT and their children, Apathy Ann, Madison Marie and Priscilla Leigh; one brother, Tim Brown, of Stilwell; two sisters, Karen and Bill Sellers, Marion Spearman, all of Stilwell, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Eugene Kester, Bro. Glenn Hopkins and Bro. Joe Hudgens officiating.

Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
