Laura Mary Bond, the daughter of John Wilkie and Edna (Wilson) Wilkie, was born October 29, 1922, in Westville, Oklahoma. She departed this life September 23, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 24 days.
On December 26, 1950, Laura was married to Norman Tedder Bond in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Laura was a life member of the Stilwell Garden Club, serving as President and Secretary and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had a special love for her pets and enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman Bond, on March 6, 1995, one brother, Jimmie H. Wilkie, a great nephew, Major Johnson and a great niece, Debra Johnson. She leaves to mourn her sister, Maxine Hembree and husband, Watie, of Stilwell, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Shirley Carlton, of Westville.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Hubert Sponsler officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
