Rites were held Wednesday afternoon at the Spade Mountain Mission for John Sheppard, 80-year-old father of Deemie Sheppard of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Stilwell, who died Monday in Tahlequah City hospital, with Rev. Leonard Stewart, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial was in the Spade Mountain cemetery, with Roberts Funeral directors handling arrangements.

Other survivors include his wife of the home, son Dred and a daughter, Mrs. Zora Petris of Tulsa.

Mr. Sheppard was born April 19, 1870 at Ozark, Ark.

Pallbearers were Henry Dudley, John Ferguson, Benny Thomas, Tom Means, Leonard Vaughn, and Jim Baird.
