Irvin "Doodle" McClain, the son of Bud McClain and Susie and Marvin Matlock, was born February 17, 1928 in Tahlequah. He departed this life on March 31, 2006 at his home in the Rocky Mountain Community at the age of 78 years, one month and 14 days.

On July 7, 1948 "Doodle" married Goldie Eubanks in Tahlequah, and went on to make their home at Rocky Mountain where they raised four daughters. While raising the family, "Doodle" was a long time employee of Stilwell Foods and later went onto retire from Greenleaf Nursery.

During his life, "Doodle" enjoyed hunting, yard work, gardening, fishing and reminiscing with his children and grandchildren about the past. "Doodle" was active in the church and enjoyed his church family until his poor health kept him at home. He took pleasure in family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Chalk McCain.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Goldie of the home; four daughters, Sharon Cone and her husband, Dennis of Welling, Reva Kimble and her husband, Leon of Stilwell, Debbie Asbill and her husband Dale, of Stilwell and Tammy Gaches and her husband Ronnie of Bunch; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of family, friends and loved ones who will greatly miss him.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Essary and Rev. Bill Roundtree officiating.

Interment followed at Spade Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
