Matthew Craig Edwards was born on November 20th, 1984 to Virgal Craig Edwards and Mary Ann Hand in Mount Pleasant, Texas. In 1999, Matt moved to Stillwater where he attended school. He graduated from the Lincoln Academy in Stillwater in 2001. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved sports especially baseball and basketball. He was an avid pool player and would play pool with anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew and enjoyed playing his guitar.
Matthew passed from this life on October 20th, 2006 at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 21 years old. He is survived by his father and mother , MaryAnn Hand and Craig Edwards and step-mother Sherry Lynn Edwards; brother, Jesse McKay Edwards; sisters, Kandace, Britney and Amanda Edwards, Kristy Scott; nephews, Mason Edwards, Colton and Dillion Hughes; niece, Kaidence Edwards; grandparents, Wesley and Doris Hand and William Henderson; aunts and uncles, Raymond and Beth Hand, Shirley and J.D. Cook, Grant and Cindy Edwards, Orbie and Frances Edwards, Roy and Brenda Dill, Daryel and Brenda Edwards, Ronald and Jennifer Edwards; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Services for Matt will be held on Thursday, October 26th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Phyllis Brown will be officiating. Interment will be Spade Mountain Cemetery in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will include: Kyler Grim, Rusty Wells, John Bates, Jeremy Lovekamp, Landon Yerbic and Cody Adams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with arrangements.
