Nelson Soap, son of Na-Na-Thla and Puna (Duncan) Soap was born January 4, 1928 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on November 19, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 15 days.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching any sports on television. He was a very loving husband father and grandfather to his family. He especially enjoyed being able to take care of his wife Minnie and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents; Siblings; Irene Wolfe, Genora Cochran, Lula Teehee, Martha Squirrel, Lucille McCuistion, Levi Soap, Bobby Lee Soap and 2 son in laws; Rick Swake and Darrell Stilwell, Aunt; Mary Silversmith, and 1 Great granddaughter; Justine Soap.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife; Minnie Soap of the home in Stilwell, Ok, 7 children; Juanita Stilwell, Leroy Soap and wife Karen, Peggy Sawney and husband Hershel, Nadine Ross and husband Larry, Shirley Soap, Larry Don Soap and wife Thelma and Ruby Swake all of Stilwell, Ok. 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one on the way, siblings; Inola Grimmett and husband Roy, John E. Soap and wife Joann, and Harry Soap all of Stilwell, Ok, several, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Flynn and Bro. Lawrence Eagle officiating. Interment followed in the Soap cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
