Chester Swake, 56 year old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday March 23, 1990, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born on May 28, 1933 at Chewey, Oklahoma to Frank and Jessie (Tehee) Swake. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Delaware County and was a resident of the Colcord area for the past eight years. He was associated with the Twin Oaks Baptist Church.

Chester is survived by his wife Carrie Stringer Swake of the home; his mother Jennie Tehee of Kansas, Okla. 4 sons: Larry and Jerry Swake of Tulsa, Ok, Ray Dean Swake of Oaks, Ok, and Chester Swake, Jr. of Colcord, Ok. 5 daughters: Norma and LaVeta of Tulsa, Ok, Judy, Zena, and Janice Guess all of Colcord, Ok. Also a sister, Marie Johnson of Twin Oaks, Ok.

He is also survived by six step-sons: Larry, Roger and James Jenks all of who are from Colcord, Ok; Ronnie Jenks of Gentry, Ar, Tommy Jenks of Hiwasse, Ar, and Keith Jenks of Jenks, Ok. Five step-daughters: Wanda Duncan, Owasso,Ok, Donna Humbyrd and Peggy Butler of Gentry, Ar, Betty Mackey, Colcord, Ok, and Judy VanDyke of Siloam Springs, Ar.

Services were at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, Rev. Roy Backwater officiating. Interment in Manning Cemetery near Chewey under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
