Death came Tuesday, March 29, 1949, to William Young, pioneer Cherokee, at his home at the old CCC camp, following a long illness.
He was an employee of the Indian Highway Department at the time he became ill.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Salem Church, with burial there, under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Directors.
Born August 2, 1902, he was 46 years, seven months and 27 days of age.
Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by several children.
*William Young was born in Braggs I.T. to Tom Young and Cynthia (Starr) Young. He married Mary (Waters) Young.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Mary (Waters) Young, four daughters: Cynthia Mary (Young) Jones, Viola, Margaret Louise, and Juanita, two sons: Joe and Robert Young, many friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father Tom Young, mother, Cynthia (Starr) Young, two sons: an infant and Tom Young, two daughters: Ruby Lee Young and Wilma Young.
Note: He is buried at the south west side of Salem Cemetery in a plot by the big Oak tree. All but one grave is unmarked. Beginning at the North side at the Oak tree going south, 1st grave is his daughter Wilma, 2nd grave is his son Tom, 3rd grave is his wife Mary (Waters) Young, 4th is his mother Cynthia (Starr) Young, 5th is his grave and 6th grave is his daughter Cynthia Mary (Young) Jones.
