Shane Charles "Bam Bam" Watie, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, was born February 18, 1989 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Charles and Brenda Braden Watie and passed away September 21, 2008 in Keota, Oklahoma at the age of 19.

Shane is survived by mother; Brenda Braden and stepfather, Steve Workman, father; Charles Watie and stepmother, Sherry Watie. Seven sisters; Canice Hopkins of Stilwell, Nicole Watie of Sallisaw, Lavel Watie of Sallisaw, Ashley Spahr of Tahlequah, Heather Welch of Keota, Natasha Sanders of Tulsa, and Felicia Hopkins of Stilwell. Ten brothers; David Hopkins of Tahlequah, Sammy Diver, Travis Hopkins, Shawn Watie, James Walker, Cecil Watie, Rick Watie, and Stan Watie, all of Stilwell, and James Walker, Darrick Walker, and Zackery Walker, all of Sallisaw. Paternal grandmother; Florence Chuculate of Stilwell, Maternal grandmother; Norma Drurey of Stilwell, Maternal great-grandmother; Lena Braden of Stilwell. Maternal grandfather; Bob Braden. Aunts and Uncles; Carolyn and Mike Watie of Stilwell, Sonja and Bobby Hinkle of Stigler, Andy and James McClure, and Shelly Woods. Cousins; Billy, Brandy, Kensey, Kelsey, Kole, Kaybree, Mikyla, Felisha, Dustin, Peach, Plum, Sara, and Darius. 6 nieces; Kaitlin Sanders of Stilwell, Kyliee Eagle of Stilwell, Summer Smith of Keota, Kira Watie of Sallisaw, Kaydence Nixon of Sallisaw, and Chole Welch of Keota, 6 nephews; Chance and Hunter Hopkins of Stilwell, Calob and Matthew Sanders of Stilwell, Michael Eagle of Stilwell, and Darryn Spahr of Tahlequah.

Shane was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers; George Chuculate and Gene Philpott, and uncles, Cecil and Rufus Watie.

Graveside Service was 2 pm Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Salem Cemetery, Stilwell with Rev. Betty Dunn, Rev Glenn Hopkins, and Rev. Lorence Eagle officiating under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pallbearers; Neil Perry, Matt Shoe, Dustin Sparks, James McClure, George Griffith, Mark Barber. Honorary pallbearers; Travis Hopkins, David Hopkins, Shawn Watie, and Dusty Welch.
