Ollie Mae Sawney, daughter of Jim and Rachel (Springwater) Sawney, was born on March 8, 1943 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She passed from this life and joined her heavenly father on December 11, 2018 at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 3 days.
Ollie was baptized on April 13 of 1959. She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church and was heavily involved in all church activities. Ollie loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Cherokee was her first language and she did her best to pass it on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a kind, faithful Christian woman, who made everyone feel loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Rachel Sawney, her son: Nathan Carlos Soap, three sisters: Narcie Harper, Lizzie Weavel, Peggy Sawney and a special grandson: Malachi Redbird Smith.
Ollie is survived by her companion: Calvin Soap, of the home near Stilwell, her son: Rod Still and wife Tonya, her daughter: Shandi Still. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan Still, Candice Still, Jobey Still and wife Autom, Kari Still, Jerome Still and Gray Wolfe, great -grandchildren: Braylen Still, Gage Still, Stokely Smith, Koby Still, Jalee Still, Shadow Still, Makenlynn Still, one sister: Florence Cornell and husband Benny of Tahlequah, one brother: Henry Sawney and wife Virginia of Stilwell. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Salem Cemetery, Stilwell, with Pastor Gary Flynn officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell.
