Nancy Sawney was born on August 20, 1937, in Claremore, Oklahoma to White and Annie (Jones) Littledeer. She departed this life on December 4, 2008, in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 71.
Nancy was a beloved mother, wife, sister and grandmother. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors. Nancy also loved being surrounded by family and friends.
On April 8, 1957, she married Franklin D. Sawney in the Salem Community. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2000. Nancy was a homemaker and was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church until she was no longer able to attend.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, White and Annie Littledeer, four infant children, three brothers, Woodrow Wilson Littledeer, Louie Littledeer and Roy Steven Littledeer and one grandson, Wyatt Sawney.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Lula Sawney and Lillie Sawney Clinton and husband, Steve; five sons, Franklin Sawney, Jr. and wife Joan, Winfred Sawney, Ernest Sawney, J.D. Sawney and wife, Vanessa, Daryle Sawney and wife, Paula, all of Stilwell; two brothers, Dave Sanders and wife, Pat, Johnny Wolfe and wife, Beverly; four sisters, Polly Noisewater, Mary Canoe and husband, LeRoy, Linda Cochran and husband, Willard, of Stilwell and Emma Bird, of Nicut; 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loves ones. Nancy will be greatly missed.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Eagle officiating.
Interment followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
