Ruby Neoma Samms, daughter of Robert L and Mary Elizabeth Faubus Thomas was born October 6, 1920 in Vian, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on December 1, 2012 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 25 days.
Ruby enjoyed the duties that followed her role of being a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and spending time with her family but most of all she loved the Lord and enjoyed spreading his word. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Samms; 2 sons, Goodloe and Tommy Samms; grandson, Jack Samms and great great grandson, Malachi Smith.
Ruby is survived by a very loving family that includes her grandchildren Ryan Samms, Diana Scraper and husband Rick, Mary Samms, Sonya Springwater and husband Rick all of Stilwell, OK, Brandi Maxeiner and husband Tim of Broken Arrow, OK, great grandchildren Matt Scraper, Amber Smith and husband Tim all of Stilwell, OK, Teresa Hames of Siloam Springs, AR, Amanda Mink, Zach Mink Jalen Scraper all of Stilwell, OK, Caraline and Elleanor Maxeiner of Broken Arrow, OK, 6 great great grandchildren, Aubrey and Uriah Smith, Cainan Mink, Santana Scraper, Emmary and Avah Mink all of Stilwell, OK, Tommy Sullins and Cheyenne Hames of Siloam Springs, AR.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Roger Haney and Bro. Tom Cochran officiating.
Interment followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
