Joe Morton son of Lewis and Pearl (Miller) Morton was born June 10, 1920 in Nicut, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 8, 2009 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 28 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Frank Morton, Milam Morton, Clyde Morton, 4 sisters; Clara Brown, Vena Sanders, Zora Brown and Verna Ramsey.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife Leona Morton of Stilwell, OK, 4 sons; Perry Morton and wife Dottye of Glenmora, LA, Wadie Morton and wife Joean of Ft. Gibson, OK, Tony Morton and wife Mary Jane of West Plains, MO, John Chuculate and wife Karne of Stilwell, OK, and 1 daughter; Katy Morton of Stilwell, OK, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Lawrence Eagle officiating, interment followed in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
