Doris Marie Kester was born August 9, 1944 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Hooley and Margie (Green) Flynn and went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2018 in Stilwell at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 15 days.
Doris was married to Floyd “Juke” Kester in 1963 and their union was blessed with four children. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, watching the birds and taking care of her grandkids. Doris was an excellent homemaker and always made sure her house was well kept. She was a member of Copic Missionary Baptist Church.
Those preceding her in death; include, her parents, Hooley and Margie Flynn and one brother, Willie Flynn.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes her husband of 55 years, Floyd “Juke” Kester of the home; her children, Quinton Kester and wife Kimberly of Joplin, Mo., Warren Kester and wife Nikki of Poteau, Nicole McKinney and husband Stanley of Muldrow, Marlaina Kester and her significant other Kenneth Canoe of Stilwell, three sisters, Shirley Bird and husband Johnnie of Stilwell, Nadine Snow and husband Alfred of Westville, Caroline Qualls and husband Teddy of Nicut, 12 grandchildren, Troy, Maci, Pierce, Makayla, Mariah, Ethan, Jennifer, Bridgett, Madison, Alex, Aiden and Jake; five great-grandchildren and a special niece, Tonya Colston.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Eugene Kester officiating.
Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
