Funeral services for Max L. Gonzales were held 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. George Polecat officiating. Interment followed at the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Max L. Gonzales was born October 9, 1946 to John G. Gonzales and Betsy M. (Cochran) Gonzales in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He passed from this life December 5, 2003 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center at the age of 57 years, one month and 26 days.
Max and Imogene Locust were united in marriage on October 21, 2003 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Max served his country in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting his guns and spending time with his special "lil" buddy, Jason Locust. He was a member of the Cherry Tree Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betsy, two brothers, John Buford and Bob Gonzales; two sisters, Eva Mae Diver and Margaret Adair.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene of the home, three sons, Richard Wilson of Stilwell, Okla, Dion Gonzales of California, Michael Gonzales of Stilwell, Okla; two daughters, Luvica Hummingbird and husband, Brian of Tahlequah, Okla; Monica Marritt and husband, Gerald of Stilwell, Okla; three step-sons, Randy Gonzales, James Allen Locust, Darrell Soap; two brothers, Chester Gonzales, Emmett Gonzales; two sisters, Betty Diver, Mamie Gann all of Stilwell, Okla, a special grandson, Jason Locust and seven grandchildren and his special friend Leon Frogg.
