Felix Duncan son of Taylor and Sarah (Eli) Duncan was born June 21, 1932 in Adair County, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 20, 2009 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years 2 months and 29 days.
Felix loved reading his Bible, singing gospel music, spending time with his grandchildren and loved the role as a pastor while his health permitted. He was of the Baptist faith. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister: Annetta (Wolf) Pettit and 1 grandson: Richard “Richie” Dale Canoe Jr.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife: Nellie Duncan of the home in Bunch, Oklahoma; 3 daughters: Marilyn Perez, Cherokee Livers and husband Burl, Janice Cheromiah and companion Raul all of Stilwell, Oklahoma; 3 sons: Richard Dale Canoe Sr. and wife Doris, Felix Duncan Jr., Vernon Wayne Duncan and wife Brenda all of Stilwell, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Melinda Whitener of Hulbert, OK, Lydia Sawney and husband Billy Faye of Stilwell, OK,; 2 brothers: Frank Duncan and Bill “Pete” Eli both of Stilwell, OK,; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. John Gonzales and Bro. Leo Duncan officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
