Arch Vann was born on November 5, 1922 in
Stilwell, Oklahoma and went home to be with
Jesus surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday,
March 10, 2018 in Stilwell, Adair County,
Oklahoma at the age of 95 years.
His hobbies were fishing and gardening. In his
younger days he spent much time at his beloved
Rock Fence Church doing yard work and everything
else that needed to
be done.
Arch very much enjoyed visits from his grandchildren especially on the days he was sick…they were his medicine. He gave special nicknames to each one of them.
He sure loved his wife or girlfriend, as he so lovingly called her. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed. He was simply the best!
Arch is preceeded in death by his parents: White Vann and Jennie Bunch, one brother: Johnny Cookinghead, three sisters: Rachel Littledeer, Minnie Lowery, Emma Mink, one great-grandson: Hunter Burrows.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of 69 years: Mary Katherine of the home near Stilwell, children: Frances Polecat (George) of Stilwell, Donald Vann of Tahlequah, Freda Vann of Stilwell, Betsy Springwater (Levi) of Stilwell, Jessie Vann of Stilwell, Rogina Sanders of Stilwell, Jeffery Vann (Ashley) of Tahlequah, Mitchell Vann (Heather) of Stilwell, Timothy Vann of the home near Stilwell, Kathy Hudson (Tim) of Stilwell, 32 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at New Life Church, Stilwell, with Bro. Dewayne O’Fields, Bro. George Polecat, Bro. Thomas Still and Bro. D.J. McCarter officiating.
Interment followed at
Rock Fence Cemetery, Stilwell, under the
direction of Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home,
Stilwell.
